Then Comes Baby...

Then Comes Baby...

Pregnancy may come as a surprise or it may be something that you have planned and waited for. Sometimes pregnancy comes only to end with loss and heartache, and sometimes it just never comes at all.

"We are created in the image of God. The union of the flesh with the spirit can bring us a fulness of joy. Teach your children to respect the sanctity of human life, to revere it and cherish it. Human life is the precious stepping-stone to eternal life, and we must jealously guard it from the moment of conception."
Elder Lynn A. Mickelsen

The human life is valuable. It is a gift from God and begins with the faint heartbeat in the womb. For unwed mothers who don't feel it is their time to become a parent- I urge you to look into adoption. So many wonderful families are waiting for children to call their own. Many who have gone through periods of loss and grief trying to conceive.  Consult with the Lord. Pray often and continually and you will be led to the right choice.

"For couples who are able to have children, agency appears to be an important principle in determining when to have children and how many children to have."

We are commanded to "multiply and replenish the earth." Adam followed Eve in eating from the fruit of the Tree of Life so that they could remain together and follow this higher commandment.

"The Lord has told us to multiply and replenish the earth that we might have joy in our posterity, and there is no greater joy than the joy that comes of happy children in good families. But he did not designate the number, nor has the Church. That is a sacred matter left to the couple and the Lord."

For those who are left with aching hearts and empty arms, I urge you to look to adoption to heal your emptiness.

"Never forget that these little ones are the sons and daughters of God and that yours is a custodial relationship to them, that He was a parent before you were parents and that He has not relinquished His parental rights or interest in these His little ones. Now, love them, take care of them... Rear your children in love, in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Take care of your little ones... Welcome them into your homes, and nurture and love them with all of your hearts."
-President Gordon B. Hinkley-
